Leonie Blitner was born in Ngukurr to her mother Gwenneth Blitner. She studied and finished school at Ngukurr School and she is now painting at the art centre. She loves to paint landscapes and tell stories of the animals and how the landscape changes with different seasons. A lot of her stories are about Groote Eylandt and she visits there often. She has lots of family there too.
